Timeline Update

Aug. 16- Got my braces! They were blue. I am used to them now, and so far I've also gotten the colors lavendar and dark green. Today I had an appointment, but I took of the wires and bands for the cleaning at the dentist (so they are just plain metal brackets right now).

Aug. 25- First day of 6th grade! It was pretty exciting. We had lockers, switched classes, and are pretty independent for the first time (we don't have our teacher take us to lunch, bring us back from lunch...or other stuff). We had two new students in our class too! It was a girl and a boy.

........normal school days, birthdays passed, the usual.........

Oct. ?- I am chosen to compete in SSPP's first annual Spelling Bee! There were 10 kids from each class from 3rd grade to 8th grade. I'm sure an 8th grader will win! (The words are HARD! Well, not that hard, they're actually okay for me)

Oct. 31- Halloween! This year I was a "product of life"! But really, all I can say about my costume is that I wore a black T-shirt with a white barcode on the front. My friends were various interesting things/people.

Nov. 9- I go on a field trip to the DeYoung Museum! The whole junior high went, and while there we observed artwork that was shipped here from Paris.

Nov. ?- I join the SSPP Decathlon Team! My subjects are Current Events, Literature (just need to know all about the book Belle Prater's Boy), and Anagrams. Yay! We will get to have a blue T-shirt that says SSPP Decathlon 2010-2011 with an icon of an eagle under it. I think...

Dec. 10 (TODAY!)- I compete in the Spelling Bee! I was so so so nervous. Then, I was really mad (at myself) because I got out in the 2nd round. THE 2ND ROUND! I know I could have gotten farther than that, but I was too nervous. Since I'm sure you're wondering what word I messed up on, it was UNANIMOUS. Unfortunately, though, I spelled it U-N-A-M-I-N-O-U-S. Of course, as it was incorrect, I was "dinged". I was very frustrated, especially because once I sat down next to my classmates to watch the rest of the 'Bee, I knew how to spell (almost) every word that was presented to the other contestants. Oh well. By the way, the winner was an 8th grade (I knew it!) girl and she won an encyclopedia. Everyone else will get a certificate. Oh, and one more thing-my round one word was C-A-S-T-L-E. Talk about easy!
