Scoma's at Small Business Expo

May 21st - Small Business Expo @ AT & T Park

This is the 4th time that my friend Dominique and I attend this kind of event. We just went there for fun the first time when Mom helped to setup the stuff at the "Scoma's" booth. The last 2 times we went we actually had a job to do. We helped serve crab cakes. It was SOOOO much fun! We had this system. It went something like this. Dominique would put a crabcake on the tray or napkiin. Then I would squeeze a shape with sauce on the crabcakes. Our past few shapes we used were stars, hearts, happy faces, "Ss"(For "S"coma's), and "09"s.

The people LOVED it!!! They kept exclaiming how cute it all was. We both wore Scoma's aprons and we each had our own name tag to clip on. Once, a lady even gave us this plastic reusable waterbottle for free! After we were done, we finally got a chance to look around and pick up a few things like keychains, notepads, sticky notes, candies, and other things like that from all different kinds of brands and companies.

So Many Things Happened in May

May 1st, 2009 - Visit Dental Office Part I

"I needed to pull a total of four permanent teeth out because my jaw is too small. I had a tooth pulling experience back in last December, 2008 - I had 6 baby teeth pulled out all at once. This time it is for permanent teeth and I was so scared and nervous because I thought it would hurt LOTS more.

Everyone including my dentist, Dr. David Rothman, was telling me that it will be okay to pull all 4 at once so we don't have to go again, to just "get it over with". But I said to my mom, "These are my teeth, I decided to pull 2 at a time only."
My mom said, "Of course it is okay with me, and yes, these are your teeth, so you have the right to make the decision."
May 1st was the first appointment to pull 2 permanent teeth out.

I used the laughing gas this time in which I didn't use them last time when I came to pull out my baby teeth. It's a special gas that make you feel calmer when you breathe enough of it. They also put a headset on for me to listen to the music. I chose to listen to the "Chipmunks" songs.

So to me, it didn't hurt that much and I am glad about it. At the same time, I had a very loose baby tooth, Dr. Rothman extracted it for me. And for FREE too! Also, afterwards, me and my mom(daad was at work) went to the the Serramonte shopping mall food court. I got a frozen lemonade because I wanted that instead of an ICEE. Yay! It was really cold, but delicious and it helped the pain too!" - Emily

"Emily looked kind of funny when she lay down on the dentist chair. She has the mask on for the laughing gas, a sun glasses to block the light from above, and a headset for the music."
- Mom

May 8th, 2009 - School Dance Festival Night
"It was great! There were 12 different dances. I was dancing in dances #1,#5, and #11. The theme was "Around the World." I wasn't even nervous when I performed(I usually am)! In fact, all I felt was a huge wave of excitement as I waited for my turn with the others in the show." - Emily

We have to put make up on for the dancing show - very RED lips!

Pictures we took before the dance were displayed on the wall.

Can you guess where am I? No... you are wrong... I am on the right of the front row. :-)

One of the dance is cowboy dance.

Wow, I almost didn't recognize myself!

The "Can Can Dance" was my favorite one.

"It was fun to watch. Great show! And I took a video of it, so that Emily's grandpa, grandma & po-po can all enjoy watching it too on DVD!" - Dad

"Not a bad show at all! All I can say is that overall, the younger dancers were cute and fabulous. The older ones were more graceful and professional, or experienced, I guess." - Mom

May 10th, 2009 - Mother's Day

"I set up a tea party with a very cute tea set, completed with teeny tiny plates, cups, silverware, a milk pitcher, a sugar pot , napkins, tablecloth, and of course, the teapot for Mother's Day. My family and I had a great time even though we couldn't sit there all day to enjoy it." - Emily

"I had a wonderful Mother's Day. After all, I AM a mother." - Mom

May 15, 2009 - Visit Dental Office Part II

This is the last "pulling teeth" appointment in my life (so far) - I hope.
I went in to have my other 2 permanent teeth pulled. The last visit experience was not as bad, I felt a little relax this time. I went through the whole procedure that I had to with the last visit. I chose the same "Chipmunks" music to listen. I was in the office for 30 minutes, and everything was over. I am so happy about it.

The next thing is in another half year, I need to visit the "ortho" to decide when am I going to have the braces. But I'm ecstatic that I don't have to pull anymore teeth out.

One of the part I like "pulling teeth" is that I could go to my Grandma's house to have the rice porridge that she cook. The Chinese call this rice porridge as "jook". I always like the "jook" that she makes for meeeee!!!

"Emily is a very brave girl. She could deal with the pain very well. I feel so relieve that no more teeth need to pull from her mouth." - Mom

(Daddy feel the same way too!)
