2 Jokes i found

Here is a thought-

Person1: Want to hear the story about the broken pencil?

Person2: No thanks, I'm sure it has no point.

Person1: Do you know what happened at the Boston Tea Party?

Person2: No. I wasn't invited!

These jokes may not be very funny, but it's just a thought and may be something to talk about :). -Emily

Snowmen

Hello! I am part of my school newspaper, The Eagles Eye. Here is my most recent article...SNOWMEN!

Snowman
By Emily Lee Gr.5

What’s in your mind when winter is here? I usually think about Christmas, cold weather, snow, and snowmen. Do you know what a snowman is made of? Your answer will probably be snow or snowflakes. However, did you know that snowflakes are about 20% water and 80% air. So a snowman is actually mostly made of air ( I would call it a snow-air man).

Some scientists think that the first snowman was most likely built in Europe. Creating a snowman dates all the way back to the Middle Ages (roughly the 5th century to the 16th century). Snowmen are often considered a symbol for Christmas. It is sometimes considered an aerobic exercise burning about 238 calories per snowman, per hour.

According to http://wbztv.com/local/worlds.tallest.snowman.2.666023.html and http://thelongestlistofthelongeststuffatthelongestdomainnameatlonglast.com/largest25.html , the tallest snowman in the records is 122`1`` tall and was named Angus King. He was built in Bethel, Maine in 1999. It melted in June 10, 1999 and took around four months to melt. The tallest snowwoman was 122`1`` and was named Olympia after Olympia Snowe, Maine’s senior senator. She was also built in Bethel, Maine except she was built in 2008.

On Christmas Day

My family woke up. It was Christmas! It was Christmas! It was Christmas! But first, let me tell you about Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve, I didn't do much. That night, my mom was helping my dad pack for his trip to Hong Kong. They were up late!
At 12:00, I checked the area where we put all our presents. No gift from Santa! I checked it at twelve because on the radio, I heard a song where it said that he comes at 12. But...no gift! I checked at 12:15 and...no gift! I was going to check one last time at 12:30 and then stop checking. So I checked. And what do you know...a gift! I got Animal Crossing-City Folk Wii! I didn't get a chance to play that night, but that's okay. Bedtime...zzz...morning!

Yay, Christmas Morning! My dad checked everything again and moved his luggage to the car. We drove to the airport so Dad could check in and I slept the whole time(in the car). In fact, I didn't wake up until we arrived at Broadway Bistro to eat breakfast. I had bacon, eggs, and a bite of toast. We went back to the airport to drop my dad off. Of course, we said "good-bye, we'll miss you, bye-bye." Then my mom and I drove to Grandma's(pohpoh) house. We did a little gift exchanging there, too. Afterwards, my saam yee(aunt) took me, Josephine, and Jonathon(my cousins) to Denny's to eat. Then we went to the theatre and we watched The Princess and the Frog.

Finally saam yee, Josie, me and mom went to my house and we just...relaxed. We played the Wii, did a bit in my "lab", watched a movie, made and had dinner, fell asleep. For dinner, we had pasta, dinner rolls, jook, greens, tiramisu, cream puffs. Then we watched a little bit of a DVD that was 200 short cartoons. The whole thing was 21 hours! So of course we didn't get to finish it.

My saam yee and Josie left before I woke up on Saturday. And me and my mom did nothing and spent the weekend at home.
