"I needed to pull a total of four permanent teeth out because my jaw is too small. I had a tooth pulling experience back in last December, 2008 - I had 6 baby teeth pulled out all at once. This time it is for permanent teeth and I was so scared and nervous because I thought it would hurt LOTS more.

Everyone including my dentist, Dr. David Rothman, was telling me that it will be okay to pull all 4 at once so we don't have to go again, to just "get it over with". But I said to my mom, "These are my teeth, I decided to pull 2 at a time only."
My mom said, "Of course it is okay with me, and yes, these are your teeth, so you have the right to make the decision." May 1st was the first appointment to pull 2 permanent teeth out.
I used the laughing gas this time in which I didn't use them last time when I came to pull out my baby teeth. It's a special gas that make you feel calmer when you breathe enough of it. They also put a headset on for me to listen to the music. I chose to listen to the "Chipmunks" songs.
"Emily looked kind of funny when she lay down on the dentist chair. She has the mask on for the laughing gas, a sun glasses to block the light from above, and a headset for the music." - Mom

We have to put make up on for the dancing show - very RED lips!

Can you guess where am I? No... you are wrong... I am on the right of the front row. :-)
One of the dance is cowboy dance.
Wow, I almost didn't recognize myself!

The "Can Can Dance" was my favorite one.
"It was fun to watch. Great show! And I took a video of it, so that Emily's grandpa, grandma & po-po can all enjoy watching it too on DVD!" - Dad
"Not a bad show at all! All I can say is that overall, the younger dancers were cute and fabulous. The older ones were more graceful and professional, or experienced, I guess." - Mom
May 10th, 2009 - Mother's Day
"I set up a tea party with a very cute tea set, completed with teeny tiny plates, cups, silverware, a milk pitcher, a sugar pot , napkins, tablecloth, and of course, the teapot for Mother's Day. My family and I had a great time even though we couldn't sit there all day to enjoy it." - Emily
"I had a wonderful Mother's Day. After all, I AM a mother." - Mom
May 15, 2009 - Visit Dental Office Part II
This is the last "pulling teeth" appointment in my life (so far) - I hope. I went in to have my other 2 permanent teeth pulled. The last visit experience was not as bad, I felt a little relax this time. I went through the whole procedure that I had to with the last visit. I chose the same "Chipmunks" music to listen. I was in the office for 30 minutes, and everything was over. I am so happy about it.
The next thing is in another half year, I need to visit the "ortho" to decide when am I going to have the braces. But I'm ecstatic that I don't have to pull anymore teeth out.
One of the part I like "pulling teeth" is that I could go to my Grandma's house to have the rice porridge that she cook. The Chinese call this rice porridge as "jook". I always like the "jook" that she makes for meeeee!!! - Emily
"Emily is a very brave girl. She could deal with the pain very well. I feel so relieve that no more teeth need to pull from her mouth." - Mom
(Daddy feel the same way too!)
